Kasper van den Wijngaard

Kasper van den Wijngaard is practicing and teaching Bikram Yoga at BYU, Bikram Yoga Utrecht.

I started practicing Bikram Yoga in 2005 and began teaching in 2008 in my first homeschool Bikram Yoga Amsterdam. During that time I started training for the National and International Yoga Championships, the Bishnu Charan Ghoshcup. For 3 consectutive years I was the Dutch Nationial Champion, and internationally won 4th place, 3rd place and then finally 1st place in the International Adult Men Division in LA, February 2010. Winning 1st place made me the ambassador for the yogacommunity in 2010/2011, allowing me to teach and demonstrate in yogaschools around the world in the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe. My year as ambassador ended with a demonstration at the next international championships in LA July 2011, to pass the torch to a new champion.

I grew up in the Netherlands. My interest in yoga started at the age of 21 at University College Utrecht, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science, Biology. Before yoga I pursued sports, mainly running and swimming. After my first year of yoga practice, I discovered Bikram Yoga Amsterdam, and soon decided to spend all of my time and effort at practicing and learning this healing and life-changing yoga series.

I have trained with Mary Jarvis (San Francisco) for the Bishnu Charan Ghosh Cup since 2007. The more you learn, the more you realize how much more there is to learn, physically, mentally and emotionally.
